The Atlantic Coast Line begins the branch in 1910 and completes the 47 miles through Avon Park to Sebring in June 1912, giving Frostproof its first rail service the same year; a branch reaches Lake Harbor via Moore Haven and Clewiston, and U.S. Sugar buys the surviving segment in 1994 [WHCB][WSEB][WFRO].
